About The Dhabba

I’m excited to introduce The Dhabba, an Indian restaurant that has quietly earned a loyal following right in the heart of Glasgow. Tucked away at 44 Candleriggs, Glasgow G1 1LD, United Kingdom, this spot feels like a warm invitation rather than a flashy dining room, and that’s part of its charm. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere leans relaxed and welcoming, making it just as suitable for a casual lunch as it is for an easygoing evening meal with friends. The kitchen focuses on bold Indian flavours that feel comforting and familiar, yet thoughtfully balanced, which makes every visit feel dependable and satisfying. The Dhabba also keeps things flexible with delivery, takeaway, and dine-in options, so it fits naturally into busy city routines. On the menu, you’ll find a mix that works for different moods and diets, including halal food, vegetarian and vegan options, and lighter choices for anyone looking for healthy options without sacrificing taste. Small plates are ideal for sharing, while quick bites make it easy to pop in without committing to a long sit-down. At the same time, late-night food is available, which adds to its appeal for evening diners. Drinks are well covered too, with beer, wine, cocktails, spirits, and even coffee available, so it works as a relaxed social stop as well as a full meal destination. What stands out most when introducing The Dhabba is how effortlessly it balances quality, comfort, and accessibility, creating a space that feels genuine, unfussy, and consistently enjoyable for locals and visitors alike. It’s the kind of place where staff keep things friendly and unpretentious, and where the focus stays on flavour rather than formality. Because of its central location, it often becomes a convenient meeting point before events or a relaxed stop after work, and that everyday usefulness is a big part of why people keep coming back.

You can't go wrong with a meal at The Dhabba. Great food, and the nicest team. We both had the veg thali and left very satisfied.

The Dhaba Glasgow – A Hidden Gem! This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were warm and welcoming. The food? Incredible. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, some homestyle Indian dishes, and the Daal – all bursting with authentic flavors. The starters were just as impressive. The Vada Pav was outstanding – honestly, better than what I’ve had in Mumbai. And the Dahi Vada? Simply wow. Light, flavorful, and refreshing. Every dish was a 10/10. The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re in Glasgow and craving proper, delicious Indian food. The Dhaba is where it’s at!

We were recommended here by our friends who visit often. It was hands down, the best curry we’d ever had. So tasty, spicy and seasoned beautifully. We had the sharing platter to start and each thing I tasted I had to put the other half back on my plate to save it to the end. So fresh and honestly beautiful. I had a chicken spicy curry that’s currently only on the Christmas menu and I will be going back during my the festive period so I don’t miss it again. I would say it was slightly more expensive than average but that’s clearly due to the quality of the ingredients. It somehow didn’t seem expensive because of how genuinely beautiful it tasted! All staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. We genuinely had such a wonderful experience here and I cannot wait to come back! I’ve not been this excited about a restaurant in a very long time! The best words to describe this is fresh, tasty and very high quality. We will absolutely be back as soon as possible!

Fantastic restaurant and best of all you can eat here with a nut allergy as the kitchen is nut free, what a find. Food is incredible.

The food is understated, beautiful, and absolutely delicious! Generous portions and fairly priced! We had three lamb dishes, a chicken biryani, two butter chickens, and several starters. There wasn't a single miss!! A must go for anyone! Sad there won't be one when we get back to Canada!

Well! We ended up in this restaurant as 1st choice was full ( this was recommended by our 1st choice). Being seated, although full, we were treated as friends and old acquaintances. A fantastic welcome! Once seated we were offered menus and drinks. A quick scan of the menu revealed a slightly different menu from what would be expected. After selection we waited a mere 10 minutes for what can only be described as an adventure into authentic North Indian cuisine. We were pleasantly surprised. Nothing akin to your high street 3 in 1 or chain establishments. If you want to taste India, this is the place to go. Can’t wait for next visit to delve a bit further into the ‘delights within’
